New Dewalt 20V Flagship Hammer Drill DCD999 Spotted - It Claims 1219 UWO

Up until now the Dewalt 20V flagship cordless hammer drill has been the premium 3 speed DCD998 hammer drill that claims over 1050 UWO of performance. Dewalt seems to have surpassed this with a new model, the DCD999. This is a premium 3 speed high torque hammer drill that claims 1219 UWO according the Devonlube.com website. Update 9/16/2020 – It seems that the original link has been removed by the website.

The DCD999 model is very similar to its predecessor, the DCD998. It looks identical to the DCD996 model before it. This model also looks like the DCD995 model before it. The DCD999 is more similar to the DCD998. However, the extra long handle on the side grips the tool in a dark gray. The torque collar has a different look with a yellow accent and a slightly different design. It appears that the metal gearbox cover is slightly darker than the original XR badge.

Although the overall shape of the body is similar to that of DCD998, there are some cosmetic differences. The DCD996 still has a 3-speed transmission. It also appears to be equipped with the larger LED light, which can be used as a standalone flashlight.

Similar to the DCD998, which uses power detect to give the best performance with larger batteries, the DCD999 claims that it will also perform at its best when used in conjunction with a DCB606 60V Max* FLEXVOLT.

Hector Toledo claims he saw this model on the Home Depot website, but they quickly removed the listing. It appears that this new model will be out soon. It is shown in the above image with a Flexvolt Advantage badge instead of the DCD998 model’s wording power detect.

A big thanks to Hector Toledo for spotting!
